Trail: Onion Creek

Leader: Michael Burchnell aka Punisher (@punisherraptor)

9:45am Depart Old Spanish Trails Arena

We will drive from the arena to the start of Onion Creek, which is about 25 miles on the highway. We’ll turn off the highway and air down at that point. This trail is a classic Raptor trail and a water crossing experience. There will be 27 water crossings to be exact! Beautiful scenery and ample time to enjoy the drive. We’ll drive about 25 miles This is very mild trail but depending on weather it can get slick.

Lunch: Lunch on the trail. Be sure to have your lunch with you and take plenty of water.

Onion Creek is a fun trail, and the water crossings do not disappoint. Don’t worry, there’s typically just enough water running through the creek to make it fun, but not a major hazard. Depending on the weather, we’ll return back to Moab, airing up at the highway before the drive back to the arena.

Mid-Afternoon: We’ll be back to the Arena in the afternoon. We’ll have a little treat for everyone to enjoy and time to talk about the days trail, Raptors and generally enjoy each others company.

Dinner on your own. You may want to make reservations at your desired dinner spots. There will be at least of the attendees hitting the Moab Brewery for after dinner drinks. (This is not part of Raptors on the Rocks)

This trail has some of the famous Red Rocks of Moab, but nothing your Raptor can’t handle. There are sections of that are slow, some faster sections and some amazing views. The name should actually be Chicken Corner, as in just one corner. You’ll know it if when we get there. On the cliffs edge hundreds of feet above the mighty Colorado River below.

Trail: Mineral Point

Leader: Chuck Yarbrough (@addictionraptor & @RaptorAddiction)

9:45am Depart Old Spanish Trails Arena

We will drive from the arena to the start of Mineral Point trail. This is out towards Canyonlands National Park, which is about 25 miles north west of town. We’ll air up when we get to the start of the trail. This trail has different scenery than the prior two trails, crossing the desert past some beautiful red rocks and ending at a magnificent overload of the Green River. This is a very easy trail with some higher speed sections. Since this is our last portion of the event, some may chose to carry all luggage and items with them to head home or to your various destinations. Carrying all your gear shouldn’t be a problem on this trail.

Lunch: Bring your lunch and plenty of water. We’ll enjoy our lunches on the cliff high above the Green River. The view here will make your jaw drop.

Early Afternoon: This completes the ROTR event! You can return to Moab or to your various destinations.
